Reinforcing steel stirrups and ties are detailed with standard 90-degree and 135-degree hooks for concrete confinement. The 90-degree hook features an extension of 6 bar diameters or two and a half inches minimum. The 135-degree hook incorporates an extension of 6 bar diameters typically, or 10 bar diameters at moment frames with a minimum of 3 inches. Minimum bend diameters are specified as 4 times the bar diameter for number 5 bars and smaller, and 6 times the bar diameter for number 6 through number 8 bars.
