A non-bearing masonry wall with a minimum 4-inch reinforcement zone at the top ties back to an overhead joist via an angle brace. The angle brace connects to the masonry wall and extends up to the joist system above with a 2-inch minimum clearance. An angle brace size schedule specifies maximum allowable lengths for angle profiles including L2x2x1/8, L2-1/2x2-1/2x3/16, and L3x3x3/16 up to 8'-0", 10'-0", and 12'-0" respectively. Connection details show the angle welded to the joist with 1/8-inch fillet welds.
