This connection utilizes a one-inch thick gusset plate welded to a horizontal hollow structural section beam to serve as the primary junction for four diagonal hollow structural section braces. Each brace is connected to the gusset plate using six three-quarter-inch diameter A325N bolts arranged in a standard pattern. The gusset plate is secured to the beam with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on both sides, while the braces are attached to the gusset with one-quarter-inch fillet welds. All bolt holes are spaced at two-inch and three-inch intervals to maintain proper edge distances and clearances from the central work point. The assembly is designed to transfer lateral loads through the gusset plate into the beam member.
