A wide flange beam connects to a supporting wide flange member using a shop-welded and field-bolted shear tab connection. The connection utilizes five vertical bolts spaced at three inches typical, with edge distances measuring one and one-half inches typical. A one-half inch clearance is maintained between the framing beam web and the support flange. The top and bottom bolt rows are positioned one and one-half inches from the plate edges.
