An 8-inch concrete masonry unit wall transitions vertically into a 12-inch concrete or masonry wall with staggered vertical reinforcing bars. The vertical rebar continues through the transition with lap splices dimensioned per the structural drawings and sheet references. Vertical bars feature a two-foot-zero-inch stagger for the termination and lap splice zones. Additional reinforcing is provided per the elevation drawings.
