A 4x4-inch 68-mil angle measuring 1'-4" long acts as a clip to anchor a stud kicker parallel to the metal deck flutes. At concrete over metal deck, the clip is fastened with four 0.157-inch diameter Hilti X-U powder-actuated drive anchors with 1-1/4 inch embedment. At metal deck only conditions, four #12 self-metal screws are installed parallel to the flutes at 3-inch and 3-1/2 inch spacings. The stud kicker, sized per wall sections, connects to the clip using four #10 self-metal screws.
