A hollow structural section blocking member bears against a welded embed plate anchored in a concrete masonry unit shear wall. The embed plate is secured with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. Three bond beams reinforced with two number five bars each are provided at the beam elevation. The beam pocket is grouted solid after installation, with additional solid grouting provided as required for bearing during construction.
