The hoist beam is connected to the underside of a supporting steel beam using four 1-inch diameter bolts. Three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plates are welded to each side of the supporting beam web with 3/16-inch fillet welds applied to three sides. The stiffener plates feature clipped corners to clear the beam flanges. The hoist beam size and supporting steel beam size are determined per the project plans.
