A steel beam connects to the web of a supporting steel beam using bolted connection plates on both sides of the web. The connection utilizes typical bolt spacing and edge distances with a maximum spacing of three and one-half inches. Fillet welds secure the connection plates to the framing members as specified by typical weld symbols.
