A hollow structural section brace connects to a column web using a three-quarter-inch thick gusset plate welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. A beam frames into the column with a typical shear plate connection while supporting a concrete floor slab over metal deck. A column cap plate matches the beam flange thickness above. Additional drag and beam-to-column connections are provided per plan.
