This structural connection detail joins a bent steel beam to a connecting steel member, with the top of steel elevation sized per plan. Half-inch thick stiffener plates are provided on both sides of the joint, secured with quarter-inch fillet welds on three sides. Complete joint penetration welds are specified at the beam web and flange.
