Wood stair framing connects to a header supported by dimensional lumber joists and a joist hanger. The stair stringer is supported by a Simpson ST2215 connector secured with seven sixteen-penny nails. A two-inch joist with a Simpson HU hanger or similar connects to the header, with header size and exact stair step profile coordinated with architectural plans. A minimum one-half tread bearing is provided at the header connection.
