Shaded regions indicate protected zones within a buckling-restrained braced frame assembly spanning between steel columns and beams. Buckling-restrained brace protected zones encompass the steel core and connection elements in accordance with Section F4.5c of AISC 341. Attachments penetrating the casing such as screws or powder-actuated fasteners, or any attachment supporting over 50 pounds, require approval from the engineer of record and the manufacturer.
PROTECTED ZONES SHADED REGIONS INDICATE PROTECTED ZONES BRB PROTECTED ZONES SHALL INCLUDE THE STEEL CORE AND CONNECTION ELEMENTS AND SHALL SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION F4.5c OF AISC 341. ADDITIONALLY, ATTACHMENTS WHICH PENETRATE THE CASING (SCREWS, PAF, ETC) OR ANY ATTACHMENT SUPPORTING OVER 50 LBS SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER OF RECORD AND COREBRACE.
