A maximum 175 millimeter pipe penetrates a reinforced concrete foundation beam with adequate clearance to the bottom of the beam. Double stirrups are positioned on each side of the penetration for shear reinforcement. Longitudinal steel reinforcement is detailed with a standard 90-degree bend sized to match the longitudinal reinforcing bars. A minimum concrete cover of 50 millimeters is maintained over the steel reinforcement across a typical 1200 millimeter zone.
