A channel chord as shown on the plans bears on a steel beam, which in turn supports a steel joist and metal deck assembly. A 3/16-inch fillet weld connects the channel chord to the supporting steel beam. Storefront framing is positioned adjacent to the beam as specified by architectural drawings.
