A wide flange beam connects to a concrete wall via a steel embed plate and shear plate assembly. The W8x28 beam features a three-eighths-inch by four-inch shear plate welded to the web with one-quarter-inch fillet welds on two sides, secured to the embed plate with two three-quarters-inch diameter A325N bolts. The embed plate measures five-eighths-inch by ten inches by one foot three inches and is anchored into the ten-inch by one-hundred-twenty-inch concrete wall with nine three-quarters-inch diameter by five-and-one-half-inch concrete studs. An L4x4xone-quarter-inch angle is welded to the embed plate with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds on three sides to support the concrete slab on metal deck above.
