An L4x4x1/4 structural angle brace connects to the top flange of a structural steel beam sized per plan beneath a metal roof deck. A 1/4-inch by 5-inch by 0-foot 5-inch plate is provided at each brace connection. The brace is skewed as required and welded to the top flange of the nearest beam with a quarter-inch fillet weld.
