A hollow structural section steel post bears on a base plate secured to a concrete foundation by cast-in-place anchor bolts. The base plate is connected to the steel post with a one-quarter-inch fillet weld applied typically around the perimeter. Anchor bolts are spaced at one and one-half inches typical from the edge.
