The assembly connects a steel beam to a hollow structural section column using complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges. Shear tabs welded to the column web bolt to the beam web with four standard bolts. Full-depth stiffener plates are provided on each side of the column web at the weak axis configuration to reinforce the connection. Perpendicular beam connections are detailed as indicated per plan.
