A metal deck bears adjacent to the bottom flange of a steel beam, supported by a continuous 4x4x1/4 inch structural angle that can be inverted as required. A continuous 3/16 inch butt weld secures the connection where required, with a one-half inch minimum clearance maintained above and below the flange interface. A continuous bent plate is provided at the deck transition. Where the deck slopes relative to the beam, transitional detailing is required per architectural drawings.
