An HSS post sized per plan connects to a 1/2-inch by 5-1/2-inch by 24-inch steel plate using a 3/16-inch fillet weld on both sides. The steel plate is secured with two 1/2-inch diameter by 3-1/2-inch KH-EZ anchors spaced at 2 inches typical. The assembly aligns with the elevator opening and supports the guide rail mounting plate per manufacturer requirements along the guide rail centerline.
