Reinforced concrete column pedestals feature vertical bars and equally spaced ties sized per schedule, maintaining a typical two-inch clear cover. The contractor adjusts vertical bars and ties as required to fit anchor bolts from the base plate above. Alternate hook directions are applied to the ties typically, with single ties provided in lieu of closed ties at the contractor's option.
