A steel beam connects to a wide flange column using a half-inch thick top plate welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds and a half-inch thick shear plate. The right-hand steel beam features a four-bolt shear connection with one-and-a-half-inch spacing and a three-inch setback from the column face. The left-hand framing connects via a similar four-bolt arrangement and one-quarter-inch fillet welds. A one-inch clearance separates the beam ends over the column centerline. For shear plate size, fastener counts, and drag beam conditions, reference the framing plan and typical beam connection schedules.
