A structural steel column and an intersecting gusset plate connect to a base plate secured by anchor bolts for a buckling-restrained braced frame column base plate connection anchored to a concrete foundation. The base plate rests above a column blockout and concrete foundation detailed with reinforcing u-bars, including seven number 9 grade 80 u-bars each way and additional u-bars at the adjacent elevator pit wall. A four-inch typical grout hole is provided through the assembly. Column welds to the base plates are designated as demand critical welds. The anchor bolt configuration matches the accompanying plan view.
