A concrete slab depression is detailed with a four-inch maximum drop utilizing a subgrade step to maintain rock thickness. Alternatively, a two-inch maximum drop is permitted without a subgrade step if the area is less than one hundred square feet; otherwise, the subgrade must step accordingly. A continuous number four reinforcing bar is provided alongside reinforcement per plan, with an eight-inch minimum dimension maintained at the transition step.
