Steel beams frame into a steel column using bolted shear tabs welded to the column flange and web. A one-half-inch cap plate caps the column, flanked by three-quarter-inch by eight-inch girder bearing plates on each side. A three-eighths-inch by eight-inch by one-foot vertical stiffener plate is centered on the girder bearing plate on each side of the column. A one-quarter-inch by six-inch by six-inch stabilizer plate is also provided. Five-sixteenths-inch and three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the plates.
