A bolted buckling restrained brace connects to a wide flange column via a center gusset plate welded to a 1 1/2" thick base plate. The base plate is secured with eight 1" diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 threaded rods featuring nuts above and below the embed plate and leveling nuts above the base plate. Holes are 1 1/8" diameter with an option for 1 5/16" oversized bolt holes using high strength washers. A 5/16 fillet weld attaches the column to the base plate, complemented by 1/2" and 3/4" stiffener plates welded along the web. Five #8 bars measuring 8'-0" long are welded to the gusset plate for added anchorage. A 2" minimum drypack is provided beneath the assembly.
