An unreinforced masonry exterior wall is anchored to a floor or roof diaphragm using a three-quarter-inch diameter threaded rod anchor. Depending on site access conditions, epoxy dowels are drilled and installed either upward from below the floor or downward from above the floor. The assembly provides structural tie-in for existing masonry walls lacking original tension rod anchors.
