A heavy brace frame base plate connection is anchored by eight two-and-a-quarter-inch-diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts. The three-inch-thick base plate, fabricated from 50 KSI steel, features eight three-and-a-quarter-inch-diameter bolt holes and is accompanied by one-and-a-half-inch by five-inch square plate washers with two-and-five-sixteenths-inch-diameter holes. Complete joint penetration welds and five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds secure the column web and flanges to the base plate. Dimensioning provides precise spacing and edge distances relative to grid lines for accurate field installation.
