A structural steel column bears on a three-quarter-inch bearing plate anchored to the top of a concrete foundation wall with four five-eighth-inch anchor bolts embedded seven inches minimum. A one-inch layer of non-shrink grout fills the space beneath the base plate and above the foundation wall. The detail includes plan views of typical bearing plates and corner bearing plates with half-inch oversized holes, plate washers, and three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds.
