This structural steel connection details a wide-flange column framing multiple beams using skewed shear plates. A one-half-inch plate matches the depth of the skewed shear plate and is omitted where the skewed shear plate frames directly into the column flange. Five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure both flanges where indicated, and complete-joint-penetration welds apply at specified locations. Beam flanges are coped for clearances as required, and shear plates on either side of the column web at seismic force-resisting system lines are offset to the same side of the beams.
