A diagonal brace constructed from an L3x3x3/8 angle connects to the top flange of a supporting steel beam beneath a concrete on metal floor deck, skewed as required. A 1/4 inch by 6 inch by 0 foot 6 inch weld plate attaches to the diagonal brace and secures to the beam web and flange using 3/16 inch fillet welds. Alternatively, the contractor may provide the connection using two 7/8 inch diameter A325 bolts instead of the field weld. An HSA anchor stud is embedded through the concrete slab into the beam top flange.
