Small miscellaneous openings up to twenty-four inches in concrete over metal floor decks require supplemental reinforcing bars placed around the cutouts. Two number five bars are placed at the top on each side of the opening, and two number five bars are placed at the bottom on each side. The layout maintains a minimum extension of two feet six inches beyond the opening edges, oriented with the deck span.
