A C12x20.7 landing beam bears onto a steel column fitted with a three-eighths by three-and-a-half by three-and-a-half-inch cap plate. A three-eighths by three-and-a-half by nine-inch plate is welded to the beam web with quarter-inch fillet welds and fastened to the column cap with two three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A325-N bolts. The cap plate is welded to the steel column with quarter-inch fillet welds.
