Steel beams of differing depths connect to the flanges of a steel column using bolted shear tabs and top and bottom flange plates. The shear tab thickness equals the beam web thickness plus one-quarter inch, fastened with a vertical row of bolts and an optional second row as required by the plan. Continuity plates are aligned across the column web matching the larger flange thickness of the connecting beams. A sloped bottom plate is detailed when the beam slope is less than three inches.
