A 3-inch standard steel pipe column bears on a 1/2-inch by 12-inch by 1'-0" steel plate recessed flush with the concrete slab-on-grade. The base plate is anchored with four 3/4-inch diameter by 8-inch welded studs spaced at 9 inches gauge. The column rests on a 3'-0" by 3'-0" concrete footing with a minimum depth of 1'-6". Reinforcement consists of four #5 reinforcing bars each way within the footing.
