A concrete curb is formed directly above a concrete slab on grade, typically measuring up to one foot in maximum height with standard dimensions sized per plan. The curb is reinforced with number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center on all four sides as directed by note two. The slab on grade features number five reinforcing bars at twelve inches on center each way per note four. A construction joint is located at the interface at the contractor's option, requiring the surface to be roughened to a one-quarter-inch minimum amplitude of clean aggregate and solidly embedded in the concrete.
