This horizontal joint between two concrete tilt-up panels utilizes an L8 x 4 x 1/2 inch angle, three feet long, embedded into the panels with two 5/8 inch diameter by 36 inch vertical deformed bar anchors at 8 inches on center, two 3/4 inch diameter by 60 inch horizontal deformed bar anchors, and 5/8 inch diameter by 8 inch headed stud anchors at 8 inches on center. A 1/2 inch by 7 inch by 2 foot 8 inch steel plate with 1-1/4 inch horizontal slotted holes is field-welded to the embedded angle with a 5/16 inch fillet weld at 6 inches on center. The assembly is secured with 3/4 inch diameter anchor bolts featuring oversized washers at 4 inches on center, positioned at the center of the horizontal slotted holes. Typical horizontal reinforcing bars are welded to the angle with a 1/4 inch fillet weld at 6 inches on center. The joint includes a solid grout bearing location and a chamfer at the exterior face as specified by the architect.
