A structural steel column rests on a base plate secured by anchor rods embedded into a concrete footing. Nonshrink grout is placed beneath the base plate per the base plate detail, while footing size, depth, and reinforcement are sized per plan and footing schedules. An isolation joint surrounds the steel column at the concrete slab interface, maintaining a one-inch maximum clearance.
