The connection assembly includes a vertical L6x6x1/2 structural angle one foot two inches long centered on the post, reinforced with three-eighths-inch stiffener plates welded with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld applied to three sides typically secures the structural angle assembly.
