Base plate configurations for both wide flange and hollow structural section columns anchored to a concrete foundation. The wide flange detail shows a steel column welded to a base plate with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds and four one-inch diameter anchor bolts located through thirteen-sixteenths inch holes, including an optional one-and-three-sixteenths inch max grout hole. The hollow structural section detail provides a square base plate welded around the perimeter with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds and four one-inch diameter anchor bolts. An accompanying table lists standard plate widths, lengths, and thicknesses corresponding to various hollow structural section column sizes. Anchor rod requirements reference sheet S5.02.
