An exterior concrete stemwall rests upon a continuous concrete footing with reinforcing dowels extending through the joint. Two continuous number five bars run horizontally at twelve inches on center through the stemwall top. Number five dowels with standard ninety-degree hooks at each end are spaced at one foot six inches on center. Horizontal dowels tie the exterior slab-on-grade reinforcement into the stemwall. Two inches of concrete clearance is maintained throughout the assembly.
