A structural steel column connects to a supporting member with a three-eighths inch plate anchored by bolts spaced according to AISC workable gage standards. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch and five-sixteenths inch sizes secure the connection assembly typical to the column centerline. A three-inch minimum clearance is maintained typical throughout the connection zone.
