This structural detail shows the connection of a truss purlin supporting a hollow structural section member, sized per plan. A continuous 18-gauge steel strap is fastened across the assembly using two rows of Pneutek pins spaced at beam nail spacing, with four lines where nails are staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing are required. Splices for the hollow structural section occur as indicated on the plan with reference to detail twenty. Section B-B cuts through the assembly to define the two-and-a-half-inch vertical dimensions and connection geometry.
