Procedures for creating penetrations up to 6 inches in diameter within a composite slab require concrete to be blocked out prior to pouring, with metal deck cutting deferred until the concrete reaches 75% of its design strength. Cutting the deck is limited to no more than one web per hole location. Maintain a minimum spacing between penetrations of six times the diameter of the larger opening, or at least 12 inches. If opening sizes or spacings exceed these limits, reinforce the assembly according to the requirements specified in detail 2/S-62001.

NOTE 1 MAX 6" DIA BLOCK OUT CONCRETE BEFORE POURING DO NOT CUT DECK UNTIL CONCRETE HAS ATTAINED 75% OF DESIGN STRENGTH 2 1/8" NOTES: 1. SIX TIMES DIAMETER OF LARGER OPENING, BUT NOT LESS THAN 12" EACH WAY. 2. IF OPENINGS OR SPACINGS ARE LARGER THAN SHOWN, REINFORCE OPENING GROUP PER 2/S-62001. 3. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE PENETRATION SIZE AND LOCATIONS WITH MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, AND ARCHITECTURAL AND THE APPROPRIATE SUBCONTRACTORS. CUT NO MORE THAN ONE WEB AT EACH HOLE
