A davit support offset at a steel column features a davit socket pedestal mounted on a three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch square base plate. The supporting beam connects to the column using a shear tab with four bolts and is reinforced with half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates on each side of the web. Additional half-inch stiffener plates are welded between the column flanges with specified fillet welds ranging from quarter-inch to five-sixteenths. The entire assembly transfers loads from the offset davit through the beam framing into the column web and flanges.
