A vertical control joint in a concrete masonry unit wall is sealed with backer rod and sealant on each side per architectural requirements. Two number four vertical reinforcing bars are placed on each side of the joint, with matching dowels provided at the footing. A continuous horizontal bond beam crosses the assembly with horizontal reinforcement sized per elevation.
