A built-up steel stair stringer frames into a supporting steel beam sized per plan. A 4x4x3/8-inch angle measuring 20 inches in length is centered on the steel stringer. Stiffener plates of specified thickness are welded on each side of the steel stringer. A full-depth stiffener beyond is centered on the connecting steel beam.
