A steel beam connects to a wide flange column using a half-inch thick plate welded to each side of the support. The plate is welded with five-sixteenth inch fillet welds to the column flange. Three one-inch diameter through bolts secure the beam web to the connecting plate with vertical bolt spacings of two inches, three inches, and three inches.
