An L1-1/2x1-1/2x3/16 angle is installed either above or below the metal deck before cutting a hole. This reinforcement applies at holes from six inches to twenty-four inches wide in bare metal decks without concrete. A one-eighth inch fillet weld is applied typically at each flute. Minimum dimension requirements govern the spacing and placement relative to the opening.
